anyway, to access the photos, you'll want to login to Gmail and sign in with the same username and password as the blog =) that's right, we've got an account as sbbcyinc@gmail.com..
the zip is about 30mb, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to download, hopefully.. didn't dare to make it too big in case people with slower connections can't complete the download.. so.. enjoy =)

Bridge Builder
Came in the evening cold and gray
To a chasm vast and deep and wide
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossing in the twilight dim;
That swollen stream held no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting your strength with building here
Your journey will close with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm deep and wide-
Why build you this bridge at the eventide?"
The builder lifted his old gray head.
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This swollen stream which was naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be;
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."
many thanks to everyone who's been a help and a teacher to any one of us over our times.. and i pray we may someday help others who follow even after us =)

:) A Modest Proposal.
i've come up with a modest proposal.. haha..
no, not the one tt jonathan swift wrote in satire & suggesting canabalism..
no no.. hmm, i know for every proposal.. there must be an aim.. a hope in achieving a goal..
well, my aim is to bond the church youth together.. & for people to feel part of the yinC, i guess we need something wherby people can link themselves with..
& i was thinking of designing a church yinC t-shirt.. ermm.. well, the shirt shld contain the youth's names.. maybe to feel exclusive..? i dunno. i thought it would be nicer with the names. haha.. and i guess this shirt should be sold only to the youths..? cuz the whole idea is to have something for them to link with. & if everyone has it, it would just be another church t-shirt..
i dunno really know how we are going to identify who are the youths and who are not..
as in, age limit..
but err, i haven't done my research, as in surveying who will be interested in buying the t-shirt but i guess nobody will object to this idea? haha.. hopefully, this proposal will be approved.. & mayb with a few designs [ from the church youth of course].. orders can be taken. material of shirt can b chosen. & the t-shirt making would be successful..
:) eh, just my suggestion lahh..
Have a great week ahead people!!`
lots of love,
Amanda Lee.

Making Peace with Your Past Part 2
take care and enjoy yourself for the camp..
cheers,
fei.
Making Peace with Your Past (Part 2)
2 Cor 1: 3-4
To recap, the 1st key to healing is to know who God is. He is the Father of mercies and the God of ALL comforts.
The 2nd key to making peace with your past is to know What God Does Through Us (v4).
“… that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble…”
Knowing the dimensions of pain is important because God comforts us to comfort others. When we know how painful it feels, when we know the meaning and extent of pain, we can feel how painful others feel too. When we are in pain, it is so much easier to hide in our corner or pit holes and just rot in self-pity. However healing does not come from hiding, but from serving others. God deposits an amount of comfort in our lives so that we might be able to comfort those which are in any trouble. The world and psychology talk about drawing our inner strength in the healing process. But we have an additional source of strength; we have our hope, which comes from our Comforter.
Here are 6 steps we can take in making peace with our past. Of course, they sound easier said than done. I know because I am still learning.
1) Change our patterns in dealing with life’s problems. In the past, we might be running away, but now we can turn to God for help.
2) Take a walk to the cross and lay down our pain at the cross. Sometimes we think we are really suffering a lot. Yes, I don’t deny it, but I also don’t deny how much more Christ suffered at the cross. Think about it and turn to our High Priest.
3) Make today THE day of reckoning. Live as if today is the last day of life and then we need to give an account to God. With this perspective, we will want to live life abundantly and to serve God productively.
4) Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
5) Put joy and thankfulness in 24/7. Give thanks for everything and every time.
6) Choose to forget when forgive. When we say we forgive, we also need to forget. It is a choice that we can make. Healing won’t be complete until we choose to forget too.
A Fresh Start means the old self must die! Unresolved dreams and unfulfilled wishes will still be there in our lives. We need to live with it and move on. It is not easy, but we will have to. In God’s presence, we WILL be comforted.
I OFFER MY LIFE
All that I am, all that I have
I lay them down before You, O Lord
All my regrets, all my acclaim
The joy and the pain
I’m making them Yours
Lord I offer my life to You
Everything I’ve been through
Use it for Your glory
Lord I offer my days to You
Lifting my praise to You
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer You my life
Things in the past, things yet unseen
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true
All of my hopes, all of my pains
My heart and my hands are lifted to You
What can we give
That You have not given
And what do we have
That is not already Yours
All we possess are these lives we’re living
And that’s what we give to You Lord

Making Peace with Your Past (Part 1)
As usual, yinc pple get it 1st.. before the main crowd..
Contribution from me.
A bit long but take your time to read.
Hope it will minister to you.
___________________________________________________________________
2 Cor 1: 3-4
For some of us and for most of us, the past can be very painful. We might be hurt deeply when we were betrayed by our loved ones. We might have an abusing father, an unloving spouse, or uncaring friends that have hurt us before. Nobody likes pain and so was Jesus, but yet He still chose to go to the cross and went through the pain of physical suffering and emotional pain, just for you and me. What we have been through in the past will help to give us a new glimpse of ourselves, of our God and of our future. If we don’t deal with our past, we will not be able to move forward and let God use us.
There are 2 keys to making peace with your past – found in Paul’s words in 2 Cor 1:3-4.
1st key is Who God is To Us (v3) which will give us a New Hope.
“… the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort…”
The 1st key to healing is to know who God is. He is the Father of mercies and the God of ALL comforts. He is overflowing, overwhelming with mercies and forgiveness. We have a God that bothers about us, a God that is near to us, and we know that God is actually involved in our pain.
Here are 4 steps we can take in making peace with our past. Of course, they sound easier said than done. I know because I am still learning.
1. Accept the reality. We need to know that we can’t change the reality. We can’t pretend we don’t have abusive parents, we don’t have unloving spouses and we live in a bed of roses. We can’t change the circumstances, but we can pray that God can change us through the circumstances.
2. Feel the loss. We need to come to terms with it. We need to tell ourselves that it is alright. Staying angry or bitter will not help. It is not simply deluding or bluffing yourself that I am alright, but it is a volitional choice that we can take. We can tell ourselves “it is well with my soul”.
3. Live with it. In this life, we may never get the answers that we want and our dreams may never come true. But there is no point in escaping, running away from it. We can change churches, but the problem will still be there. It means living with the pain and the thorns in it.
4. Re-invest your love and loss in God. He knows all our future and what He can do through us. It is not whether does God comfort us, BUT whether we allow Him to comfort us, whether we allow ourselves to move on. Of course, we might be thinking to ourselves that is ridiculous. Of course, we want God to comfort us. But God wants to comfort us through serving Him, the question is are you then willing to serve? And how does God comfort us through our service to Him?
Look out for the 2nd key to making peace with your past – What God Does Through Us (v4) in the next ... week..
Trust His Heart
All things work for our good though sometimes we can’t see how they could.
Struggles that break our hearts in two sometimes blind us to the truth.
Our Father knows what’s best for us; His ways are not our own.
So, when your pathway grows dim, and you just can’t see Him, Remember He’s still on the throne.
God is too wise to be mistaken.
God is too good to be unkind.
So when you don’t understand, when you don’t see His plan,
When you can’t trace His hand, trust His heart.
He sees the Master plan. He holds the future in His hands.
So don’t live as those who have no hope. All our hope is found in Him.
We walk in present knowledge, but He sees the first and the last.
And like a tapestry, He’s weaving you and me to someday be just like Him.
God is too wise to be mistaken.
God is too good to be unkind.
So when you don’t understand, when you don’t see His plan,
When you can’t trace His hand, trust His heart.
Yongfei.

Hey you guys,
How are you all? Just dropping a post to find out how all the past events have been? Cantata, then DVC, Easter, etc.
The students must be busy with school now yeah?
Well, I've been reading Psalms and came across this verse that touched me and was hoping to share:
"For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?" Psalms 56:13
Hope that all is well back home.
Till we meet again, eat some chicken rice for me!
Love always, becky

ps, I woke up with a sore throat today, please pray for me too. That I wouldn't start coughing vigorously on stage or go severely off-key, haha.

The Most Important Question
yes, you yinC people.
you get this 1st before anyone else does..
read and reflect..
fei.
The Most Important Question
Have you ever wondered what is the MOST important question that God will ever ask you? To the unsaved, He asks “Do you want to accept me as your personal Savior?” But what about to us, the believers? Do you know what God is asking you?
“I’m going fishing.” Do you know who said that and under what circumstances?
Let me share a true story that happened many many years ago. There was this man named Simon Peter, an experienced fisherman. He gave up fishing to follow this man called Jesus and became his disciple. But something happened and he gave up and went back to fishing.
A few nights ago, Peter, a great and fervent disciple of Christ turned his back on Jesus and denied Him thrice. He was expecting Jesus to set up an earthly kingdom here and Peter would be the right hand man. But what he saw was a crucification of Jesus. His hopes were dashed and his dreams shattered. He even remembered how he had failed Jesus by denying him. He was not worthy to be a disciple anymore. He was not worthy to serve anymore. So he went back to fishing.
But what happened that day changed his life forever. Peter and his brothers were fishing but they just couldn’t believe that they had not caught a SINGLE fish at all! They were experienced fishermen who knew where and how to catch fish and yet no fish at all. Then came a man who suggested to Peter to try cast the net over the right hand side of the boat. Peter could be thinking how would this man, a non-fisherman, even dare to teach him how to fish. Nevertheless, they tried and lo, and behold, they caught so many fishes and it was a miracle that the net was not broken.
Peter and his fellow fishermen knew that the man was none other than the Lord Jesus. Peter, being the impulsive one, as usual, just jumped into the water and swam to the shore where Jesus was. When he reached there, Peter remembered and was ashamed of his failures. He remembered that he was not worthy to be called a disciple and serve anymore. He was expecting Jesus to question him why he had denied him not once but thrice. He was expecting Jesus to ask why he had given up the faith. He was in fact expecting Jesus to scold him for being useless.
Then Jesus just asked him this question. The most important question that He would ask a believer, you and me.
“Do you love me more than these?” (John 21:15) “Do you love me more than these?”
After that day, Peter became a changed man. A man fired up for God. A man who was willing to give up his life for God.
Jesus is also asking you today this question. “Do you love me, even though you have failed me before?” “Do you love me, even though knowing there will be persecutions?” “Do you love me, even though people will despise and revile you?”
“Do you love me?”
That is all Jesus is asking you today, “Do you love me?”

Prayer Request
OK, here goes. Joel was fine and happy till about 3 weeks ago, when he started having these intense headaches. He, initially, had to be sent home from school quite a few times. ( And no... He isn't the type who pon school. )
Yup, and he didn't go to school for about a week.
He later called to say that the doctors he had seen attributed the illness to brain tumour. Everyone was thoroughly shocked, including himself, of course. Like O_o... Everyone in class prayed for him, and all of us made prayer requests to our respective churches.
Praise God for his mercy and grace. ( God might like you better if you didn't pon school so much. (: )
THE DOCTORS WERE WRONG!!!
He, after the terrible diagnosis, then went to see many other doctors and went for extensive MRI scans. It was later concluded that the really intense headaches were caused by a severe case of migraine. Now, his brain blood vessels are kind of close together, and might lead to complications like haemorrage and tumour, for real.
So it isn't really tumour, but could develop into one? Hmmmm... He still can't come to school, cos any bright light or noise could spark off another bout of headaches and migraine. It's so bad that he can actually get blinded during a relapse. Like a whiteout so bright he can't see a thing. He experienced this on the bus while coming to school, and had to go home himself (sending the other commuters into paranoia at the sight of him so sick and delirious as well).
Chinese sinseh says he's suffering from nerve problems in his shoulders as well. It's made worse by emotional problems; he's an introvert, rather shy and finds it difficult to express himself. Think he's riddled by these psychological problems than physical. Or both actually. :/
Therefore, I really thank all of you for praying for him (God works miracles!!) and please continue to do so as I try to bring him to church. (:
Some thoughts. Every cloud has a silver lining. And don't assume the worst in all things. Pray, trust in God that He will see you through in all the trials you face. Keep the faith. Remember the famous story of Job who kept faithful to God even though he was plagued with many problems and illness.
I'd like to thank you all once again for praying for Joel, hope we can all get him to church and yinC.
Last words. A line from a song:
"And we shall ever shine like stars, through trials of fire and strife"
Inspiring huh. And remember kids, there are people who can't go to school like Joel, and here you are ponning lessons. Be grateful for what you have, good or bad.
PS Sorry for making this so uber long. =P

DVC Activity Promo
Beneath That Smile:
A Christian Response to The Da Vinci Code
The Scriptures exhort us to be like the men of Issachar, and know our times. We are living in days that fiction can be substituted for truth.
"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, to keep them from understanding the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:4)
In May 2006, the movie "The Da Vinci Code" will take the world by storm. The movie trailer (already gaining hype on Channel 5) ends with these words: "It will rock the foundations of Christianity." We must ask ourselves one pertinent question: "What am I called to do as a Christian?"
Our Response
It is a wide open door for Christians to engage pre-believers to intelligently and objectively investigate the reliability, accuracy and foundations of the Christian faith! Join the movement!
YinC proudly present:
DEBUNKING THE DA VINCI CODE (DVC)!
Join us for 3 sessions starting from 21st April discovering the truth!
Plus a movie outing to watch the DVC with fellow Christians.
All these just for $10 per person!!!

In a nutshell
Some thoughts to ponder on:
1) Are we moral beings, or does our morality come from being Christians? Can non-Christians be moral as well, and if so, then how are we different?
2) The wrath of God emerged from non-Christians' denial of the truth. Yet, there is a NT verse that says God will never forsake you. Is there a way to reconcile the two ideas, besides what we see in Ezekiel 20:25-26?
3) Is there a way to balance personal rights, and serving God? Or does the verse "No man can serve two masters" apply to this?
Comments please?

Just came back from a funeral. Friend's dad passed away suddenly. It was a stroke. He was 56.
It's moments like these, that I wish we could be more appreciative of what we have.

Best Tip for Counselling
People in real pain want to tell others HOW THEY FEEL, so if ever you are talking to someone in pain, whether physical or emotional, just do this one thing....
1) SHUT UP AND LISTEN!
then ask only ONE question...
2) HOW DO YOU FEEL?
If the person does not want to tell you anything, he's not ready to talk so you should not even start your long speech... But you can try to EMPATHISE with him by reflecting his feelings CORRECTLY...
3) You must be feeling irritated, angry, frustrated etc...
Once you identify his feelings correctly, he will be more likely open up to you because he thinks you can understand.... but don't ruin all this rapport you have built by giving advice...
4) GIVING ADVICE? DON'T DO IT! PERIOD.
At best you irritate the guy by forcing him to do things when he's not ready... At worst, your advice turns out to be wrong and you made things worse! Because we're individuals, what works for you may not work for others...
Ok, enough for now... Cannot teach you all everything lah... I 'tan jia' (make money) one leh, pay hundreds of dollars to learn this, now teach you all free leh... Haha...
Anyway, don't believe me? Ask any husband whose wife have given birth before...
P.S. No gender discrimination here, the use of 'he' is generic...
Uncle Ho
Weather, sores and prayers...
1) What is the cause?
(Frankly dear, I DON'T know... Doctor only said it's swollen lymph node...)
2) It's getting worse...
(Oh really? That is NOT something I like to hear, u know... And I prefer to hear a professional opinion...)
3) It's because of your diet... I told you so....
(Is that so? Mr Diet Expert...)
4) You should do this, do that, eat this, eat that, drink this, drink that, see this, see that.... (Thank you for your suggestions, but I think I'll finish my course of antibiotics and consult the doctor again on Sat morning on the next course of action, unless any of you are lymph node experts...)
Since ppl only say these 4 things, no point talking... so to make myself feel better I decided to read Job again... Hmmm... Feel better to read that I only have two sores while he's covered from head to toe... Heez... Anyway, see u all on Sat then...
